September Project Update

As usual for September, due to it being the month my birthday is in as well as a month I don't tend to do very well in despite it being the start of my favorite season (for reasons, but ones I don't feel like getting into here), I'm taking a break from writing a full article. I intend to for October and November, but this year I'm going to start a yearly project update for this month.

COMICS

Verdant Shadows: script complete, first chapter complete, second chapter penciled and inked, second chapter colors in progress; currently updating

I had to take a break between the first and second chapter because I just wasn't able to start working on chapter two while finishing up chapter one, so I've switched to a once-per-week schedule that should allow mt to keep working. My hope is that with this schedule I won't have to take breaks between chapters going forward, but if I do that's okay.

WRITING

Errant Mind: sixth draft complete and out for another round of beta reading

As-yet-untitled sequel to Errant Mind: preparing to outline

I'm getting near to tentative completion on Errant Mind, so it's time to start working on the sequel--at which point I'll probably figure out whether it's only one sequel or two. My plan is to get the outline done next month so that I can keep up my tradition of devoting November to drafting a novel even though I backed away from NaNoWriMo a couple years ago now; it tends to work well to get me through the first draft.

Mortal No Longer and Life's Curse: one last minor revision round complete, working on re-writing queries and summaries

I've decided that I am going to re-write my query letters and summaries and do one more year of querying agents next year, and if it's still not going anywhere, I'm going to switch to figuring out self-publishing. The main thing is that I'd like to get my work out there and readable, after all. (Even if I go that way if I can work out the query letters better that should help for future marketing purposes.)

Untitled supernatural mysteries: characters in progress, setting in progress, mostly ideas

I've made no progress on this at all, essentially, but I keep returning to the idea every now and again and thinking about it. Not sure if this is going to end up actually being short stories or eventually a comic project after Verdant Shadows is finished. We'll see.

Short stories: revised a few, planning to revise the rest hopefully soon, otherwise on hold

I'm still taking a break with regards to actually writing short stories, but I feel that I've generally improved my writing enough that going through and revising all my currently-written stories before I try sending them out again is worth doing. I've revised a couple that were very easy to do already and the rest of them are waiting for me to have a bit more time. I might not get to this until December, but it'll be a moderately-chill December project if I don't.

ART

World Zero setting art: deity symbols finished, cosmology page finished, species headers finished, front and back covers in progress (inks complete, color up next)

I've been working through the last of this batch of art for the new in-group D&D setting fairly slowly, but I'm getting close to finished. Color often does take me the longest, but I'm hoping to get this done next month.

Miscellaneous: in progress

Just some for-fun art of various of my characters that I'm working on. I'm close to finishing the last of those this month, so I'll probably sketch up another idea or two next month.

RACING

iRacing: mostly endurance races, working on starts

I finished up the 1000km of Suzuka recently, which was my first race with my new team, and I've been consistently doing more racing this year than the last couple. I finally won another solo race at Le Mans in the GT Sprint last month! I've got a couple more team endurance events coming up, although nothing particularly long--a six hour race at the Red Bull Ring in a couple of weeks, and then an eight hour race at the IMS. That'll be the last big event of the year.

PHOTOGRAPHY

Photos around the city?: unsure

I don't have any photography trips planned, but I'd still like to get out and take some pictures this fall, so I'm kind of planning on finding a few good spots around the city (maybe even around the neighborhood), and possibly taking a couple of road trips that don't require much planning. But I don't really know what, if anything, I'm going to manage yet.
